Introduction to the School of Public Policy
NUM-SPP has been established as a new faculty under the visionary and transformative leadership of His Excellency Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, who serves as the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister at the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports (MoEYS). This initiative reflects a long-term commitment to enhancing the educational framework in our country.
In accordance with Prakas (Ministerial Regulation) No. 1906, dated November 21, 2024, issued by MoEYS, the NUM School of Public Policy has been granted authorization to offer a comprehensive range of academic programs, including bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees focused on public policy.
At NUM-SPP, we are dedicated to cultivating a thorough understanding of the various social and economic challenges that societies face today. Our unique interdisciplinary approach integrates essential fields such as politics, policy analysis, law, public administration, economics, technology, and more. Through this educational model, our students gain practical skills and knowledge by engaging in rigorous research and applying theoretical concepts to real-world projects. History of the Establishment of the School of Public Policy
Upon the insightful initiative and advice of H.E. Dr. Hang Chhoun Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, the National University of Management (NUM) conducted an international consultative workshop on August 15, 2024. The workshop, titled “Inception of the School of Public Policy,” featured the participation of national and international academics, experts, and policymakers. The purpose of the workshop was to gather valuable insights, thoughts, and experiences from these experts for the establishment of the School of Public Policy at NUM. The event was presided over by H.E. Prof. Hor Peng, Rector of the National University of Management. During the event, H.E. Rector expressed his sincere appreciation to all participants and called for continued support, cooperation, and collaboration from everyone involved for the development of the School of Public Policy at NUM. The meeting concluded with fruitful technical inputs, insightful thoughts, and engaging discussions.
