1. Message from H.E Prof. Hor Peng, Rector of the National University of Management

Welcome to the School of Public Policy (SPP) of the National University of Management (NUM). The School of Public Policy was established pursuant to an insightful initiative and long-term vision of His Excellency Dr. Hang Choun Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport in promoting the education of public policy and administration in the Kingdom of Cambodia.

Public Policy is an interdisciplinary field that integrates politics, law, administration, economics, and more. Students gain a deep understanding of social and economic challenges while developing practical skills through research and hands-on projects. Graduates from NUM School of Public Policy are well-equipped for diverse career paths, including roles in the public sector, private enterprises, non-profit organizations, international agencies, and academia.

The School of Public Policy is currently located at a new campus of the National University of Management, which is located at Sangkat Veal Sbov, Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

2. Vision of SPP

Aligning with national and international norms and practices, the School of Public Policy has a vision to position the National University of Management as an internationally recognized university which creates groups of leaders, policy-makers and decision-makers who have innovative vision with comprehensive knowledge of theoretical frameworks and skills in applying practical solutions.

3. Objectives of SPP

The School of Public Policy has the following objectives:

To establish a community of practices which composes of policy professionals, scholars, and practitioners;

To offer comprehensive education in public policy and relevant areas at undergraduate and graduate levels;

To equip students with skills in research, analytics and writing which enables students to solve problem at real world of work.

4. Missions of SPP

NUM School of Public Policy has the follow missions:

To offer a bachelor’s degree in public policy and relevant areas;

To offer master’s and doctoral programs with research-based specializations in the certain policy areas such as educational policy, labor policy, health policy, social security policy, investment policy, environmental policy, foreign policy, etc.;

To offer short-term courses and certifications for junior policy professionals, scholars and practitioners;establishandcoordinatethepublicpolicycommunityofpracticestopromotecollaborationinpublic policy adoption and implementation.
